Filinvest City holds Fire Olympics
June 21, 2016

Just in time for the observance of Fire Prevention Month, Filinvest City staged its first Fire Olympics last April 23, 2016.

Aside from being educational, this special event also served as a friendly competition among members of Filinvest City’s Locators Emergency Response Team.

Having already established itself as the premier CBD south of Metro Manila, Filinvest City continues to attract more local and international companies to do business in their different developments.

Aside from its ideal location, Filinvest City continues to show its commitment to provide its tenants and locators world-class facilities, like a more comprehensive infrastructure system that provides optimum efficiency and supports the city's complete build out.

Filinvest City also provides its locators with a privately-operated Estate Management which handles traffic management with provision for centralized traffic lights control, facilities management, landscape and grounds maintenance, tenant support and tenant relations management, sanitation management, and security and safety.

This is where Filinvest City's Emergency Response Group (ERG) comes in; complete with its own fire truck and fire station, the ERG can be expected to provide first response and rescue in case of fire, accident, and natural disasters, with well-trained firemen on duty 24/7.

Test of Knowledge and Skills
Touching on topics that concern firefighting and rescue techniques that are commonly being practiced by the Emergency Response Teams of establishments, the Fire Olympics served as a great refresher training for firefighting and rescue practices and tactics.

As required by the DOLE-Bureau of Working Conditions, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Occupational Safety and Health Standard, Emergency Response Teams are always expected to be able to handle different emergency situations with safety and professionalism.

Aside from testing the readiness of the 16 locators who participated in the Filinvest City’s Fire Olympics, the competition also aimed to promote team cooperation and physical fitness.

The participants included Emergency Response Teams from the following establishments: Festival Supermall, Cyberzone Properties Inc., Vivere Hotel, Acacia Manila Hotel, Bellevue Hotel, Crimson Hotel, Civic Prime, Civic Place 2301, Studio 1 & 2, Studio City, The Levels, Enrata Urban Complex, The Palms Country Club, South Station, and Insular Life.

The overall champion of the Fire Olympics was Bellevue Hotel followed by The Palms Country Club (1stRunner Up), and Acacia Hotel (2nd Runner Up).

The Fire Olympics was able to make training and education for the different Emergency Response Teams in Filinvest City more fun and engaging and was something that the participating locators enjoyed.
