June 02, 2021

The Department of Health-Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) approved a parking area of an Alabang mall as an additional coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination site for Pfizer-BioNTech and Sputnik V in Muntinlupa.

Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi and DOH-MMCHD’s Dr. Ara Jurao on Tuesday led a simulation for Pfizer and Sputnik V vaccines at the Festival Mall covered parking area, the new site replacing the Filinvest steel parking area, which used to be the original area for vaccination.

Jurao lauded the planning and preparation of the Muntinlupa City Health Office (CHO) for the administration of the temperature-sensitive vaccines. She gave the go signal to use the major vaccination site for the rollout of Pfizer-BioNTech and Sputnik V.

Other officials who attended the simulation activity included DOH-MMCHD executives Dr. Anthony de los Santos and Dr. Jose Castro, City Health Officer Dr. Juancho Bunyi, and National Immunization Program Coordinator for COVID-19 in Muntinlupa Dr. Maria Rochelle Abat.

According to the Public Information Office (PIO), residents who received their first dose at Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Alabang and who are scheduled to get their second dose will receive it at the Festival Mall covered parking area vaccination site.

Meanwhile, the vaccination site at SM Center Muntinlupa parking area has been transferred inside the mall for the convenience of the public.

The Muntinlupa COVID-19 Vaccination Program is being rolled out by the CHO with the assistance of a task force that includes Gary Llamas of the Local Economic Investment and Promotions Office (LEIPO), lawyer Jojay Alcaraz, and other city departments.

Muntinlupa is awaiting additional vaccine supply from the national government as it has already used all the Pfizer and Sputnik V vaccines.

As of May 24, a total of 41,443 residents have already received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, of which 15,394 have received their second dose. A total of 3,507 residents belong to the A1 (health workers), A2 (senior citizens), and A3 (persons with comorbidities) priority groups were vaccinated with Pfizer while 2,979 received Sputnik V.

The Festival Mall covered parking area is the second major vaccination site in Muntinlupa to have been accredited for the rollout of Pfizer and Sputnik V after Ayala Malls South Park in Alabang. Sputnik V was only allowed to be used at Ospital ng Muntinlupa and Asian Hospital and Medical Center.

The Muntinlupa CHO will continue to inoculate residents using AstraZeneca and Sinovac Life Sciences’ CoronaVac.

On May 11, the Muntinlupa City government received an additional 16,800 vials of AstraZeneca and 31,200 vials of Sinovac.

Muntinlupa residents are urged to register online with the city’s COVID-19 Vaccination Registration System at www.vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac to avoid crowding in vaccination areas.

The public is reminded that walk-ins at the city’s major vaccination sites, including Ayala Malls South Park, Festival Mall covered parking area, SM Center Muntinlupa and Sucat covered court, will not be accommodated.

Only those who are registered online will be given a schedule in the major vaccination sites and will be notified via SMS. For inquiries, the public may reach the MunCoVac hotlines: 0956 358 9228 / 0915 805 5932 / 0915 806 7419 / 0960 588 5935 / 0960 588 5937 / 0998 249 4580.
